The kindergarteners have rounded first base and are moving head first into the second quarter. New parent letters will go home on Monday, and I am looking forward to conferencing with you this Wednesday, November 15th from 11:00am-2:00pm and 3:00pm-6:00pm. The conferences are first come, first serve so there is no prior sign-up.
We are doing guided reading and guided math daily. There are so many books and math games in the classroom that they can enjoy. I will have a new set of independent reader books to go home in homework folders for the week. Please return book bags on Friday, so I am able to organize new books for the next week. The weather is getting chilly and the days shorter, so children have lots of time to read, write, and problem solve. This week, I am updating the classroom writing center. A retired kindergarten teacher sold me a bundle of writing prompts including alphabet stamps to create words and titles, and fifty old Life magazines to cut out visuals and develop vocabulary. We are all looking forward to holiday break. Thank you for all of your support so far this school year. Mrs. Vinezeano

Come talk with the principal and parents about how the school year is going. Hello Kellogg Kinder Families,
Please reach out if you are interested in volunteering to help prep materials for the classroom. It takes a lot of cutting, organizing and laminating to have the centers current and enriching. The goal is for students to rotate math and literacy stations each day for three twenty-minute cycles. Also, I am planning on having a parent workshop about the balanced literacy program in early October. It will be one hour so I may go through the different components of the program. Look for flyers in next weeks Monday homework packet. Sincerely, Mrs. Vinezeano |
